To make amla murabba, first wash the amlas (Indian gooseberries) thoroughly, then dry them. Take a deep pan and add enough water. Heat the water over medium heat. When the water begins to bubble, add the amlas (Indian gooseberries). Boil the mixture for 5-6 minutes. Then, remove from the heat and cover the pan with a lid for a few minutes. Now, strain the amlas through a sieve and remove them. One by one, poke 15-20 holes in each amla with a slotted spoon to allow the juice to penetrate. To prepare the syrup, take a medium pan and combine a little water with sugar. Pour the boiled amlas over the sugar and cook over medium heat. When the syrup becomes the consistency of honey and the amlas are thoroughly cooked, reduce the heat and set aside to cool. When the amla-sugar syrup thickens to the consistency of honey, add cardamom, black pepper, black salt, and saffron. Mix everything well and store in a jar.
