Instagram has added support for 34 aspect ratio photos to improve user experience. Now users will be able to upload photos without cropping. This change matches the default 34 ratio of most smartphone cameras. Till now Instagram primarily supported square (11) and slightly vertical or tall (54 or 45) aspect ratio images.
How does the 3:4 aspect ratio work?
Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri made a new announcement via Threads that photos taken in 3:4 format will now appear exactly as they are taken on the platform. This new image ratio update will apply to both single-image posts and carousels, giving Instagram users and creators more freedom in showcasing their content. Mosseri further said, 'People who post photos in 3:4 will now see them exactly as you took them.'
