Ayurveda Day 2025: A campaign to make Ayurveda accessible to everyone, the government aims to make it the first choice for treatment.

AIIA Goa Dean Prof. (Dr.) Sujata Kadam said that a lot of work has been done in the last 10 years to expand Ayurveda, and this event symbolizes that journey, which reflects health, balance and global recognition.
Panaji:
Ayurveda should be made the first option for treating diseases, not the "last resort." The central government and the Ministry of AYUSH are working together in this direction. To reflect this vision, the 10th annual Ayurveda Day is being celebrated starting September 23rd .  This year's theme is "Ayurveda for People, Ayurveda for Planet." The main event will be held at the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA) in Panaji, Goa.
An opportunity to make Ayurveda accessible to everyone
Professor Pradeep Kumar Prajapati, Director of the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), said that this day is not just about Ayurveda, but also about the nation's commitment to better health, environmental balance, and sustainable development. He explained that the 10th Ayurveda Day is an opportunity to make Ayurveda accessible to everyone and reaffirm its vital role in global health.
New facilities will be inaugurated at AIIA Goa to mark the occasion: an Integrated Oncology Unit, a Central Sterilization Supply Department, a Linen Processing Unit, and a Blood Bank. These facilities will serve as a bridge between Ayurveda and modern medicine.

The visible effect of Ayurvedic medicines
Recently, CSIR developed a herbal medicine called BGR-34 from six herbs. It is proving effective in controlling and improving diabetes. Clinical studies have shown a 30–35% reduction in fasting blood sugar (FBS) and an approximately 20% improvement in HbA1c levels over 12 weeks. Experts say such scientific evidence will help mainstream Ayurveda as a treatment for lifestyle diseases such as diabetes, kidney disease, and blood pressure.
Expansion of Ayurveda, awakening the trust of people
AIIA Goa Dean Prof. (Dr.) Sujata Kadam said that a lot of work has been done in the last 10 years to expand Ayurveda, and this event symbolizes that journey, which reflects health, balance and global recognition.

According to reports, AIIA Goa, established in 2022, now has a 250-bed hospital and sees a large number of patients visiting its outpatient department daily. This is considered a major step towards expanding the reach of Ayurveda and strengthening its place in modern healthcare.
