According to the details, a hearing was held on the petitions filed against the Practice and Procedure Act in the Supreme Court , an 8-member larger bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Umar Ata Bandial heard the case . The Chief Justice asked the Attorney General what do you want to say? The Attorney General pointed out that the Procedure Act also deals with many other matters. We have two laws, one is the Supreme Court Review of Order and Judgment Act and the other is the Supreme Court Practice and Procedure Act. The review and advocacy clauses in both laws are similar.  The Chief Justice remarked that while the Government and the Parliament are happy to amend similar laws, the Government should consult the Supreme Court regarding the Judiciary legislation.  The Attorney General said that the Supreme Court Practice and Procedure Act is more extensive, the Act has more provisions related to the internal affairs of the Supreme Court. What is to be relied upon in both the Acts is to arrive at a solution. The Chief Justice of Pakistan spoke to the Attorney General saying that they welcome your proposal, they can ask the Parliament to see the law for harmonization. The court declared that it is welcome that the government will reconsider the two laws related to the Supreme Court . The Supreme Court adjourned the hearing of the case till next week. Earlier, Muslim League-Q submitted a response to the Supreme Court in the Supreme Court Practice and Procedure Act case, requesting that the petitions be rejected. Muslim League-Q adopted the position that the Practice and Procedure Act will not reduce the independence of the judiciary.
