Province of Badakhshan (Badakhshan Province) Afghanistan is one of the thirty-four provinces.

This (area) is first mentioned in the inscription of Khasharia. And his name is Akofa, which was in the possession of the Achaemenids. It was probably liberated after Alexander's invasion, as it is not mentioned later. But of course Kishan was part of the kingdom because the borders of the Kishan kingdom stretched across the Pamirs. (See, Kishan family Badakhshan is a mountainous region because it is located on the left bank of the river Seihun, more precisely at the source of the river, the upper reaches of the river. The area was occupied by the Huns in the fifth century AD. In the sixth century AD, the Turks overthrew the Huns. As the Arabic and Chinese documents show, at the time of the Arab invasion, the ruler of Takharistan (in a broader sense) had the Turkish title of Yabgu (Arabic Jaguba) and was taxed by other countries, including Badakhshan. (Badakhshan - Islamic teachings) When the Arabs conquered Badakhshan and how Islam was spread there is not complete information. Tabari mentions it only once that "there were wars in Kashmir and even farther away in the kingdom of Jaghoba." Near Yaqub, his city, Jerome, was located on the Tibet (via Dukhan) trade highway on the Islamic border. Al-Istakhri says that it is in the kingdom of Badakhshan Abu Fatah Is. The reference here is, of course, to Abu Fateh Yaqtali. From the sixth century AD to the twelfth and twelfth centuries AD it was included in Takharistan. The family later came under the rule of the Bamyan branch of Ghauri.

Badghis is one of the 34 provinces of Afghanistan. It is located in northwestern Afghanistan and is bordered by the Murghab and Hari rivers on both sides of the province . These are the rivers that stretch to the northern part of the Sarakh Desert . In 1964, the province was separated from Herat and parts of Miyaman province and given the status of a province, and Baghdis literally means the home of strong winds. The total area of this province is 20591 sq. Km . The name of this province is derived from the Persian word Badkhez.

History

In 1885, the Boundary Commission conducted a geographical survey here, according to which the name of the province was changed to Badghis, which over time became Badghis. At that time, it was inhabited by purely Afghan tribes. Baghdis is one of the provinces captured by the Taliban long after Kabul took over. Even after the Taliban officially joined the government, the Tajik tribes living here did not recognize the Pashtun Taliban government. After the US invasion in 2001, the Northern Alliance occupied the province without any significant resistance and the Pashtun tribes living in the minority started committing genocide in violation of human rights.

Many well-known rural tribal warlords have ruled in recent times, including Abdul Malik and Rashid Dostum., Juma Khan and Ismail Khan . In the fight against the Taliban, Northern Alliance commanders have been receiving support from Iranian Shiite groups who feared the Taliban government. This is why the commanders of the Northern Alliance have been at loggerheads with each other, a clear example of which was Commander Abdul Malik's resentment of Rashid Dostum . It was on the basis of this resentment that Abdul Malik paved the way for the Taliban to take over the province.

Geography

Baghdis Province is a mountainous region in northwestern Afghanistan and shares borders with Herat , Ghor , Faryab and Tajikistan . The Murghab River flows in the northern part of the province while the Hari River flows in the southern part.

Society

The majority of the tribes living in the province are Persian-speaking Tajiks, Hazaras and Amek. Pashtuns are in the minority here - according to AIMS and NPS, Baghdis Province is home to 62% Tajiks , 28% Pashtuns , 5% Uzbeks , 3% Turks and 2% Balochs . Baghdis Province is one of the most backward provinces in Afghanistan. Qila Naw , a town located between Shibergan and Herat , is the official capital of the province.

Politics

The current governor of the province is Inayatullah Inayat , and the Spanish army has been deployed here, assisting the provincial administration in the restoration work.

Economy

Agriculture is the biggest source of income here, the lands irrigated by the Murghab River and Hari are very suitable for cultivation. The province experienced severe famine in the 1990s and 2000s, forcing a large portion of the local population to migrate to refugee camps outside Herat. Baghdis Province is famous for carpet weaving in Afghanistan and is also the center of the country's handmade carpet industry.
