UPSC Age Limit: Will the age for appearing in UPSC exam change?

 

UPSC Age Limit: The UPSC Chairman clarified that there is no change in the age limit and number of attempts for the IAS exam. He said that coaching is not mandatory and documents will be submitted through DigiLocker. Fraud or the use of fake certificates will not be tolerated.

UPSC Exam Age Limit: If you're preparing for the UPSC, there's big news for you. Union Public Service Commission Chairman Ajay Kumar has given a clear message to candidates that there will be no change in the age limit or number of attempts for the IAS exam. He said, "There's been a lot of talk about increasing or decreasing the number of attempts, but we don't have any such proposal or idea at this time." This means that candidates will have to prepare according to the current rules.

Ajay Kumar said that the Commission will use DigiLocker for verification of certifications. The advantage of this is that documents can be submitted online and securely. He also spoke about the importance of coaching, saying, "Coaching is not mandatory for success in the Civil Services Examination. Hard work and the right strategy are key."

He also pointed out that even among students with engineering backgrounds, the majority of those taking the Civil Services exam choose humanities or non-engineering subjects. This means that the exam's focus is not just on your background, but on your preparation, thinking, and understanding.
A strict warning against cheating.
The UPSC chief clarified that any fake certificates, birthdate manipulations, or cheating are completely unacceptable. UPSC rules prohibit cheating. He explained that strict action was taken in the case of Pooja Khedkar. Khedkar had improperly taken advantage of OBC and disabled reservations, leading to her dismissal from the IAS. He warned, "If anyone cheats, a criminal case will be filed and strict action will be taken. Adherence to exam rules is mandatory for every candidate."
More strictness is now in place at exam centers.
The UPSC Chairman also stated that a facial recognition system has now been implemented for entry into the examination center. This means that any kind of fraud has become even more difficult. Therefore, candidates should only appear for the exam honestly.
