Google Chrome users are facing the threat of hackers. CERT-In has issued a security advisory for desktop users running Google Chrome. The cyber security agency has informed about the flaws and vulnerabilities found in Google Chrome for Windows, macOS and Linux. The agency says that hackers can exploit these vulnerabilities and install dangerous code on the system. The agency has advised all users and organizations using Google Chrome on Windows, macOS and Linux to update to the latest version. Let us know about it in detail.
Warning for Google Chrome users
CERT-In published vulnerability note CIVN-2025-0250 on October 8th detailing security flaws discovered in Google Chrome for Windows, macOS, and Linux. According to the advisory, these flaws allow scammers to remotely access their devices when affected users visit websites designed for fraud or scams.
Using the most vulnerable security flow, a hacker could install arbitrary code on a computer or cause a DoS-like situation. This could also allow hackers to access critical and sensitive information on the affected system. These vulnerabilities have been discovered in Google Chrome versions prior to 141.0.7390.65/.66 for Windows and Mac, and Google Chrome versions prior to 141.0.7390.65 for Linux, and have been identified as CVE-2025-11211, CVE-2025-11458, and CVE-2025-11460.
What users need to do
CERT-In has advised all general users and organizations to update their Google Chrome to the latest software version to mitigate the risk posed by these vulnerabilities. Windows and Mac users should update to version 141.0.7390.65/.66, while Linux users should update to version 141.0.7390.65.
How to update
To protect themselves, users should set their browser to automatically update. Alternatively, users can manually update their browser by clicking the three-dot menu at the top right of the screen, going to Help, then About Google Chrome. The browser will check for updates and begin downloading the latest version. Once the update is installed, users can restart the browser to apply the changes.
