A major update has been released regarding the BPSC 71st Preliminary Exam 2025. One exam center in Samastipur has been changed. Candidates can check the new center address, exam timings, and important guidelines here.
BPSC 71st Preliminary Exam : Millions of young people in Bihar dream of advancing their careers by joining the administrative services. The BPSC 71st Preliminary Exam is bringing the opportunity to fulfill this dream. This exam will be held across the state on September 13th. Strict security and strict rules will be followed during the exam. Interestingly, just before the exam, the commission changed the address of an examination center in Samastipur district to avoid inconvenience to candidates.

Which centre has been changed?
According to the information issued by BPSC, the examination centre of some candidates in Samastipur has been changed.
The old centre of those candidates whose roll numbers fall between 229373 to 229612 will no longer be valid.
These students were originally scheduled to take their exams at the Higher Secondary School, Pagra, Dalsinghsarai. This has now been changed to the Upgraded Middle School, Pagra, Dalsinghsarai.
The Commission has clarified that all other details will remain the same, only the name of the examination venue has been changed.
Recruitment process and posts
A total of 1,298 positions will be filled through this exam. This includes various positions, such as:
Senior Deputy Collector – 100 Posts
DSP -14 Posts
FAO -79 Posts
Block Co-operative Officer – 502 Posts
In addition, officers will be appointed in many other departments. This exam is a golden opportunity for young candidates.
Preparing for the exam day
The exam will be held from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. However, it's important to note that the gates to the exam center will be closed at 11:00 AM. This means that candidates arriving after 11:00 AM will not be allowed inside.
 To be safe, candidates should reach the examination centre by 10:30 am.
What to carry and what not to carry?
It is compulsory for the candidate to carry the e-Admit Card and an identity proof (like Aadhar Card or Voter ID).
The roll number and barcode written on the admit card should be clearly visible.
It is strictly prohibited to carry any item like mobile phone, Bluetooth, smart watch, electronic pen etc. to the examination centre.
Also, things like markers, white fluid, erasers are not allowed.
Negative marking rules
Negative marking will apply for incorrect answers in the BPSC exam. One-third (⅓) of a mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer. Furthermore, if a candidate uses white fluid or an eraser to alter an answer, their answer will be considered incorrect and marks will be deducted.
