BPSC Exam 2025: If you are about to appear for the Bihar Public Service Commission's (BPSC) 71st Combined (Preliminary) Competitive Examination, this news is very important for you. The exam is scheduled to be held on September 13th, and this time the Commission has implemented several new and strict rules. It is important for you to know and follow these rules, otherwise your hard work may go to waste.
Reach the exam center two and a half hours before
The Commission has clearly stated that you must arrive at your exam center two and a half hours before the start of the exam. Entry to the exam center will begin at 9:30 AM. Most importantly, no candidate will be allowed into the exam center after 11 AM. Therefore, leave home early enough to avoid being late due to traffic or other difficulties. Once the exam begins, you will not be permitted to leave the center before it ends.
These things are not allowed to be taken with you
This time, the BPSC has adopted a zero-tolerance policy regarding electronic items. This means that you cannot bring mobile phones, calculators, Bluetooth devices, smartwatches, electronic pens, pagers, or any other electronic gadgets into the examination center. If you are found carrying any of these items, or engaging in any other kind of misconduct, strict action will be taken against you. Not only will your candidacy be cancelled, but you will also be barred from appearing in any BPSC examination for the next five years.

There will be negative marking, fill the answers carefully.
This is a big change. This time, incorrect answers will result in a negative mark. One-third (1/3) of your marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer. Therefore, avoid guessing answers you don't know well. Be careful when filling in answers on the OMR sheet. Using a marker, whitener (fluid), blade, or eraser to change your answer will also be considered a misstep and will result in punishment. Therefore, try to fill in the correct circle in one go.
Action will be taken against those spreading rumours
The commission also warned that candidates caught spreading false information or rumors about the exam could face debarment from the BPSC recruitment process for up to three years. Furthermore, anyone found using unfair means will face legal action under the Bihar Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024.
