Design
The design of the Sharp Air Purifier is appealing at first sight. When I unboxed it with our video editor, both had the same first reaction. We liked its compact size. With a rectangular design, you can place this air purifier anywhere in your home (bedroom).
Most of its parts are in charcoal brown colour. The top has a light colour finish, in which its button functions are present. For example, power button, hedge mode etc. which glow with LED indicators. The air purifier is controlled with the help of these buttons. Its air flow is also on top. I found the build quality of Sharp Air Purifier FP-S40M-T strong. This purifier weighing about 3.9 kg can be easily carried from one room to another. Apart from the air purifier, power adapter and user manual are available in the box.
Installation
Often people ask how to install or use a new air purifier. This air purifier from Sharp is easy to use. After opening the box, you have to remove the covers given on its right and left. The covers can be easily removed by pressing lightly from the bottom.
After removing them, you will find a mesh on each side. After removing them, you have to remove the plastic cover from the HEPA filters installed inside and then install the HEPA filters there again. After that, the air purifier starts working with the help of the power adapter.

The main job of an air purifier is to keep the air around you clean. It removes all the pollution from the air that is not good for your breathing. Sharp Air Purifier FP-S40M-T can do these tasks. Plasmacluster technology has been used in it, which the company has also branded on its product. Plasmaclusters are ions, which are similar to the positive and negative ions found in our nature.
It is claimed that with the help of this technology, the air purifier removes odors, allergens, viruses, bacteria and smog present in the air.
Before I talk further about the features, it is important to tell you that this model of Sharp Air Purifier covers 330 square feet area. This means that it is not for a large hall. It will be better for your bedroom. You can install it in your cabin in the office or in any small area, which remains packed most of the time.
It has a two in one filter - HEPA filter and odor removing filter. The company has not disclosed which is the HEPA filter. It is claimed that these filters capture 0.1 ultra micron particles present in the air. Also, they remove dust particles like PM2.5 and PM10 from the air, which are very high in Delhi's pollution. If there is a pet in the house, then it also captures its hair.
Despite all this, it does not have a digital display that would tell how much it has cleaned the air around you. Everyone's first question in the office was, isn't it showing real time AQI? No! It cleans the air, but does not show real time AQI. There is only one indicator that indicates whether the air is clean or not; I will tell you about it later.

The functions of Sharp Air Purifier FP-S40M-T are simple. Everything is in the buttons given at the top. It took a little time to understand the functions but once you get used to it, the purifier becomes easy to use. There
are a total of 4 buttons in it. The first is the power button, which works for on-off. The second button is related to all the modes that are given in it like Auto Mode, Pollen, Sleep and three types of fan modes. The third button is related to Haze. When it is turned on, the purifier works at high speed for a certain time and then comes to normal speed. The fourth button can be used to set the timer and the purifier can be set for 2, 4 or 8 hours. Apart from this, there is an indicator in it, which shows blue light when the air is clean. If the air is polluted, then it turns orange.
After using it for about 20 days, my experience with Sharp Air Purifier FP-S40M-T is mixed. I liked the build quality of the purifier, its functioning, compact design. Its air throw is good. It does not make much noise either. But there is a lack of digital display. At this price, I was expecting Wi-Fi support, which is not there. You will have to go to it every time you want to change the function. If it had app support, it would have been in your pocket! This model of Sharp can be the choice of those who want an air purifier with simple and manual functioning.
