This certification has been given to the company by the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) under the PLI scheme for automobiles and auto components.

This will give Ola Electric an incentive of 13 to 18 percent of the value of its fixed sales. This certification is for seven models of the company's S1 Gen 3 electric scooters. These electric scooters include S1 Pro 3 kWh, S1 Pro 4 kWh, S1 Pro + 4 kWh, S1 X 2 kWh, S1 X 3 kWh, S1 X 4 kWh and S1 X + 4 kWh.

Regarding this, a spokesperson for Ola Electric said, "Getting PLI certification for our Gen 3 electric scooters is an important step towards profit. These electric scooters have a major share in the company's sales. This will strengthen our cost structure and margins." Recently, the company has launched a new electric scooter S1 Pro Sport. This is a sport-focused variant in the S1 range of Ola Electric's electric scooters. Its starting price is Rs 1,49,999 (ex-showroom). Booking for this can be done for Rs 999.

The S1 Pro Sport has a 13 kW Ferrit motor developed by Ola Electric. It gets sport-tuned suspension and Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS). This is the first time that this technology has been used in an electric scooter in the country. It has an aerodynamic design, small windscreen and daytime running lights to enhance visibility. This electric scooter has a front fender and grab rail made of carbon fiber. It has security features like collision warning, adaptive cruise control, traffic sign recognition and speeding alert. This electric scooter has a 5.2 kWh battery. The company claims that its IDC range is about 320 km. The top speed of the S1 Pro Sport is 152 km/h. It can reach a speed of 0 to 40 km/h in two seconds.
