What to eat during Navratri fast
You can eat any fruit, such as bananas, apples, oranges, pomegranates, papayas, and sapotas. These provide instant energy and fill you up. You can also drink fruit juice, but limit the amount of sugar.
Using both buckwheat flour and water chestnut flour, you can make and eat puris, parathas, cheelas or pakodas.
Sabudana khichdi, sabudana vada, or sabudana kheer are all popular during fasting. They are easily digestible and provide energy.
Milk, yogurt, paneer, buttermilk, and lassi are all acceptable during fasting. You can also make paneer curry or pakoras. These are rich in protein and calcium.
Vegetables like potatoes, sweet potatoes, taro, pumpkin, and gourd can be eaten during fasting. You can prepare them with rock salt and fasting spices (like black pepper and cumin powder).
Dry fruits like almonds, cashews, raisins, walnuts are a good source of energy during fasting.
During the fast, eat rock salt instead of regular salt. Be careful about this, otherwise the fast will be broken. Drink plenty of water during the fast.
What not to eat during Navratri
Wheat, rice, semolina, gram flour, corn, pulses (like arhar, moong, gram), common salt, onion and garlic, turmeric and garam masala, non-veg and eggs, alcohol and tobacco, processed food should not be consumed.
