Secret Chai Masala Recipe
Material
To make this, you need 20 grams of fresh rose leaves, 30 basil leaves, 30 grams of green cardamom, 20 grams of fennel, 10 grams of cinnamon, 10 grams of whole black pepper, 5 grams of cloves, 10 grams of liquorice, 4 big black cardamoms, 15 grams of ginger powder and 3 tablespoons of dry ginger.
First, take a pan and heat it over low heat. Add fresh rose petals and basil leaves. Dry roast them until all the moisture is evaporated and they become slightly crispy. Be careful not to let them burn. Once roasted, remove them to a plate and let them cool.
Now, dry roast green cardamom, fennel seeds, cinnamon, whole black peppercorns, cloves, liquorice, and large black cardamom in the same pan. Roast them until all the moisture is gone.
Once the spices have cooled, add the rose, basil leaves, dried ginger, and ginger powder to the mixture and grind them in a mixer jar. Your powder is now ready.
Store this spice in a jar and use it for up to one year.
How to Make Masala Chai
Now that your masala is ready, let's learn how to make tasty and healthy masala tea from it.
Firstly, heat water in a pan as per your preference (usually half a cup of water for one cup of tea).
Add your choice of tea leaves and sugar to the water. Let it boil for 1 to 1.5 minutes to allow the tea leaves to infuse the water with their color and flavor.
Now add milk to it and let it come to a boil.
As soon as the tea starts boiling, add about half a teaspoon of your prepared secret tea masala powder into it.
After adding the spices, let the tea boil well on low flame for 2-3 minutes, so that the taste of the spices gets completely dissolved in the tea.
Your hot, strong, and aromatic masala chai is ready. Strain it into a cup and sip it slowly.
