Melania Trump launches the Presidential AI Challenge

$10,000, cloud credits and a chance to present at the White House

AI projects will have to be made on school safety, healthy meals, education topics

America's First Lady Melania Trump has now taken a big step by entering the world of technology. She has launched a national-level AI competition named "Presidential Artificial Intelligence Challenge". The purpose of this challenge is to teach K-12 (i.e. school level) students and teachers to create solutions to real world problems through AI. A big prize has also been kept in this.

Melania called it a new technology movement and said that just like the Wright Brothers gave America a new direction by flying, AI will prove to be the next big leap. In this program, students and teachers can form teams and create projects that solve community challenges like school safety, healthy meal planning, or personalized education. The special thing about this is that all these projects will be prepared with the help of AI tools, language models and smart apps.

Motivation for the winners is also no less. Projects selected at the state level will be selected in March 2026 and the national finals will be held in Washington DC in June 2026. The winning teams will get a prize of $10,000 (about Rs 8.80 lakh), cloud credits and a “Presidential Certificate of Achievement”. Not only this, they will also get a chance to go directly to the White House and present their projects.

Melania says that this is not just a competition, but a means to connect children and youth with the future of artificial intelligence . She believes that in the coming years, AI is going to play an important role in every sector from healthcare to education and security and that is why it is important to prepare the next generation from now on.

Overall, this initiative sends a message not just in the US but globally that governments are now focusing on integrating AI with education and innovation.
