Two-step verification adds a special PIN to your account to access it. This is a simple but effective way to prevent hackers from gaining access to your WhatsApp, even if they have your SIM card.

In this guide, we will show you the steps to enable and manage two-step verification, ensuring that your chats, media, and personal details remain private and secure.

First of all open WhatsApp .

Now tap on the three dot menu at the top right corner (on Android devices) or the Settings icon at the bottom right corner on iOS.

Now go to Account and select Two-Step Verification option.

Here you have to tap on Turn on.

WhatsApp will ask you to set a 6 digit PIN. Here you have to set a PIN that you will always remember.

Now WhatsApp will ask you to add a recovery email. You can skip this option, but it is wise to submit the email because if you forget the PIN, you can recover it via email.

After setting the PIN and email, two-step verification will be enabled on your WhatsApp.

Let us tell you that you can disable it or change the PIN by going back to the Two-step verification option inside the account. Apart from this, avoid entering a PIN that can be easily guessed, such as more than two repeating numbers, your birth date, etc. Do not share your set PIN with anyone.
