"Sarsilmaz" a Turkish company that exports defense products to 80 countries

Sarselmaz is one of the Turkish brands that has achieved significant successes in the defense industry, armed with expertise and knowledge that have contributed to pushing forward technological developments.

Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Turkish company "Sarsilmaz" for the manufacture of weapons, Latif Aral Alış, said that his company exports more than 300 items produced and developed by Turkish engineers with local resources, to more than 80 countries.

Alış spoke to Anadolu Agency about the reality of the defense industries in Turkey, pointing out that there is a great demand from many countries for weapons and defense products developed in his country.

The Turkish military expert attributed this request to the strength and quality that Turkish defense industry products have proven in the field and all over the world.

He added, "Another equally important issue is the diversity of weapons, as we develop various products from drones to helicopters, and from armored vehicles to weapons systems and munitions."

He pointed out that the Turkish defense industries depend on local resources for 70%, and the value of the sector's exports exceeded 3.5 billion dollars in 2021, thus "creating the highest added value among the economic sectors in Turkey."

He added, "The defense industries continue to contribute to Turkey's economy, and of course this success was achieved through a long and hard effort, and as a result, we became a country capable of meeting its military needs with its own resources."

Turkish expert Alish stressed that recent global developments have once again shown how important the defense industry is.

"The more the defense industry sector is in a country, the more that country is able to provide a safe living for its people," he said.

He stressed that "the deterrent power possessed by a country is one of the most important obstacles to possible foreign interference, as well as its role in maintaining peace, so there is a need to have strong defense industries."

He pointed out that Turkey is increasing its share in the international market day by day, and the development of the defense industry sector enhances the country's independence, especially since the development of this sector is taking place with local and national resources.

He stated that Turkey, thanks to the defense industry sector, has an opportunity to assess its military strength in line with the country's interests.

"On the other hand, the defense industry sector in Turkey will be a starting point for economic development, as the revenues of the defense industries in the world's richest countries are considered the highest among the economic sectors," he added.

"The development of our defense industry, which is witnessing a real boom, and the increase of its share in the international market day after day, will be in the interest of economic development," the director of Sarselmaz said.

In this context, Alış pointed out that "Sarsilmaz" is one of the Turkish brands that have achieved important successes in the defense industry, armed with expertise and knowledge that contributed to pushing technological developments forward.

He explained that the company produces a variety of sporting weapons and automatic pistols, from infantry rifles to automatic and heavy machine guns, and even cannons.

He added that "Sarsilmaz" is among the few companies in the world that can produce all kinds of weapons that can meet the needs of military units.

The Turkish military expert pointed out that his company's products are in great demand all over the world, after the important successes that have been achieved internationally, and his company is determined to increase the value of its exports to reach $100 million.

"We export to more than 80 countries, our products are used by law enforcement and military authorities in many countries of the world, especially Turkey," he added.
