Disclosure in Japan of the Prime Minister's income in 2021

In Japan, it was reported that the income of the Prime Minister and Chairman of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party, Fumio Kishida, in 2021 amounted to a total of about 49.8 million yen, which is equivalent to about $398,000.

This was evidenced by data released on Monday on the income of MPs, which is expected to be made public in accordance with local laws.

Prime Minister Kishida's income significantly exceeds the amount his predecessor in this position received a year ago, Yoshihide Suga, which is about 38.7 million yen, equivalent to 310,000 dollars.

It is noteworthy that these incomes mainly include salaries and other payments due to the Prime Minister.

Last year, the Japanese parliament member received an average of about 29.2 million yen, which is equivalent to about 233.9 thousand dollars, while the share of the representatives of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party, the largest, was represented by about 37.3 million yen, or about 298.8 thousand dollars.
