The Muslims of India live under constant persecution, in which the fanatic Hindu nationalist groups and the Modi government, which adopts the same orientations, unite to abuse them. While fueling the fire of hatred, political and religious discourses incite hatred.
“I pay the price because I am a Muslim,” is the sentence that the Muslim fruit seller expressed, God testified, as he stood among the ruins of what had been, moments before, his home, the fruit cart he worked on, and the cattle barn he owned, before the Indian police demolished them and left.
Indian authorities have defended their demolitions as "necessary measures against rioters and trespassers", claiming that the homes and shops were built illegally on state-owned land.
However, it is in fact only one chapter in the persecution of India's Muslims at the hands of the far-right government and Hindu nationalist groups whose actions have increased in intensity and breadth since Prime Minister Narendra Modi took office. This is confirmed by God and a number of those who witnessed his same fate, that: The demolition of homes that is taking place does not target only Muslims... and that other cities whose Muslims witnessed the same systematic demolitions of their homes and shops.
Systematic persecution
On Saturday, Hindus celebrated the feast of Lord Hanuman, but this celebration turned into violent sectarian clashes, after nationalist youths decided to transfer these rituals to the front of Muslim mosques while performing Tarawih prayers, and crowded near the mosque carrying guns and swords, vowing to the worshipers to die, and issued offensive phrases The loudspeakers were playing songs and they refused to leave.
“Why did they decide to stop in front of a mosque this year and force us to say: Jai Shri Ram (that is, victory for God Ram)?” Sheikh Pablo Al-Muslim asks the American newspaper "Washington Post", answering what confirms the reality: that these fanatical nationalists "have gone too far in provoking us." On the basis of this reality, the newspaper concludes that India, which is inhabited by 80% of the Hindu majority and 14% of Muslims, is "on the verge of widespread violence."
The persecution did not stop at this point, so the Indian police continued to persevere in it, deliberately demolishing homes and shops owned by Muslims, and suppressing and arresting anyone who stood in their way to prevent them from doing so. Sheikh Rafiq, 72, recounts his horror during the demolition of his home and shop in the central state of Madhya Pradesh, "We were in terror, we didn't say a word, we stood and watched in silence how they destroyed everything . "
Why India intensify its targeting of Muslims?
Since 2014, with Narendra Modi's ascension to the presidency of the Government of India, the Hindutva doctrine has spread widely, and the RSS militia, which is an extremist Hindu volunteer armed force numbering 6 million, has extended its influence on the Indian political and social arena.
This is due to the fact that the ruling party, since its founding in 1980, is the political front for these militias, and thus its leadership of the government enabled it to possess all means to strengthen its arms within student organizations and labor unions, and its ideas are promoted by the media, which no longer hesitates to launch incitement campaigns against Muslims.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also one of the loyal sons of the "RSS" imbued with the "Hindutva" faith, who belonged to it since the age of eight and graduated to become one of its leaders before entering political life. He even participated in a number of its activities, most notably the events of the demolition of the Babri Mosque in 1992, according to the documentary "Red Fish" platform.
