Tokyo: Japan 's Air Force said on Monday that a fighter jet disappeared from radar shortly after takeoff, and a search is on for it. A spokesman for the Japan Air Self-Defense Force told AFP news agency: "After take off, an F15 jet disappeared from the data from the Komatsu control tower". He said the plane disappeared near the Sea of Japan, about five kilometers from Komatsu airbase in the central Ishikawa region. The spokesman said the plane was designed for two crew, but he could not confirm how many people were on board when it disappeared.
Japan Air Force has had such incidents several times, including in 2019 when an F-35A stealth jet crashed into the sea after the pilot experienced spatial disorientation. After this crash, it was very difficult to find the pilot and secrets of the plane.
