"Cannibal" American police find human remains in his house

US authorities have charged an Idaho man with "cannibalism" after they found body parts of a dead man in his microwave, East Idaho News reported .
On September 10, police began investigating James David Russell, 39, after finding the body of David Flagett, 70, in a rural area near Clark Fork. Police charged Russell with first-degree murder before charging him with "Cannibalism," in an amended criminal complaint filed last week.
According to documents obtained by East Idaho News, witnesses saw Flagett's body in a truck and suspected that Russell had killed him.
When the police arrived, they found Russell wearing gloves. According to the documents, he was hiding in an abandoned building, and the police arrested him after a brief confrontation.
When police examined the truck, they found Flagett's body, naked from the waist down, in the passenger seat. Investigators noted that an adhesive tape tied Flagett's wrist, as well as cutting off part of his thigh and genitals. Those parts were missing and appear to have been removed after he was killed.
The next day, police investigators issued a search warrant for Russell's home. When they entered, they found tissue consistent with Flagette's missing meat, as well as blood and tissue in a bowl inside the microwave.
According to court documents, it turned out that some tissues were exposed to heat, and it is likely that this happened for one to two minutes in the microwave.
In an affidavit, the investigators suggested that the accused Russell ate the missing parts of Flagett's body.
Witnesses reported that on the day of Flagett's murder, Russell acted emotionally and had recently had mental health problems.
In May, Russell told his family while in a California hospital for psychiatric help that he wanted to "cut off parts of his skin with a knife" in order to "treat his brain," court documents said.
