An interstate drug trafficking ring has been busted in Kerala's Alappuzha district. Excise officials have arrested three key members and recovered large quantities of marijuana, hashish oil, methamphetamine, and MDMA tablets. The accused used virtual numbers and a drop system to bring in the drugs from other states. Local agents connected buyers and made clandestine deliveries.
According to the police, the arrested persons were identified as Rinas, a resident of Mannancherry, Ananthu, a resident of Thrissur and Appu, a resident of Ernakulam.
A large quantity of drugs was recovered from the arrested persons.
Officials said they recovered 2.2 kilograms of marijuana, 1.1 kilograms of hashish oil, 4 grams of methamphetamine, and 334 MDMA tablets from the arrested individuals. They also seized ₹63,000 in cash and five mobile phones.
