Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi recently launched the Xiaomi 17 series. These smartphones are powered by Qualcomm's new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset. The Xiaomi 17 Ultra may also be included in this series. Information about this smartphone has been revealed through some leaks. 


Tipster Digital Chat Station posted on the Chinese microblogging platform Weibo that the Xiaomi 17 Ultra could feature a quad rear camera unit. It could feature a 200-megapixel main camera, along with three 50-megapixel cameras. One of these could feature a new periscope optical technology. The smartphone is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. 


The Xiaomi 15 Ultra was introduced in February this year. It could be replaced by the Xiaomi 17 Ultra. The Xiaomi 17, the latest addition to this smartphone series, features a 6.3-inch (2,656 × 1,220 pixels) LTPO AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness level of 3,500 nits. The smartphone has up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. It is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. 

This smartphone 's quad-camera unit includes a 50-megapixel primary camera with an f/1.67 aperture and OIS support. Additionally, there's a 50-megapixel telephoto camera and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera. A 50-megapixel front camera is provided for selfies and video calls. The smartphone's 7,000 mAh battery supports 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. The Xiaomi 17 Pro features a 6.3-inch display, while the 17 Pro Max features a 6.9-inch 2K display. These smartphones run on HyperOS 3 based on Android 16. These smartphones feature Xiaomi Dragon Crystal Glass protection for their displays. The 6.3-inch and 17 Pro Max feature a 50-megapixel primary camera, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera, and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with support for 5x optical zoom. These smartphones have a 50-megapixel camera on the front for selfies and video calls.
