The daughter of a daily wage labourer, on the strength of her hard work and passion, completed her journey to CISF and got selected for the post of constable.
Success Story: It is said that no matter how difficult the circumstances, if one has the courage and the will to work hard, reaching one's destination is never impossible. Yejjipurapu Rama, a resident of Pogiri village in the Rajam Mandal of Srikakulam district in Andhra Pradesh, proved just that. The daughter of a daily wage laborer, Rama battled poverty, loneliness, and constant setbacks, ultimately making her mark. Today, by becoming a constable in the CISF, she has brought glory not only to her family but to her entire village.
Lost mother and brother in childhood
Rama's life was filled with difficulties from the very beginning. Her mother and younger brother passed away in her childhood. Her father, a single parent, raised and educated her daughter with his wages. Financial constraints always stood in their way, but his father never let Rama's dreams be shattered.
Troubled by lack of career guidance
After completing her intermediate education and then graduating, Rama was unsure about her career path. She had no one to guide her. In 2018, her friend told her about the Pratibha Library in Rajam Mandal. This library is run by the Varalakshmi Foundation, a GSR arm of GMR. It offers career counseling and preparation. Rama enrolled there and gave her preparation a new direction.
I failed repeatedly but never gave up.
Initially, Rama took several competitive exams but failed each time. She was feeling discouraged. Then the Foundation encouraged her and provided her with digital coaching classes. After this, Rama worked tirelessly for 30 months, studying day and night and trying to improve herself in every test.
The floor was completed in 2021
In February 2021, Rama's dream finally came true. She passed the SSC exam and was selected as a CISF constable. She is currently undergoing training and will soon be deployed to serve the nation. Rama's story is an inspiration to all young people who give up in the face of adversity. She has proven that if one's spirit is strong, even poverty, loneliness, and failure cannot stop one from achieving their goals.
