The SSC CGL Tier 1 computer-based exam is being conducted today in four shifts at 260 centers across 129 cities. Over 2.8 million candidates have registered for this exam.
SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam 2025: The Computer Based Test (CBT) for the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Exam 2025 Tier 1, conducted by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC), began today, September 12, 2025, across the country. The exam will continue until September 26, 2025, with a total of 2,814,604 candidates registered. Candidates have been allocated exam centers based on the options they selected during the application process.

Of these, 93% of candidates received their first, second, or third choice of exam center. For the remaining candidates, the average distance between their application address and their assigned exam city is approximately 168 kilometers. The exam is being conducted at 260 centers located in 129 cities across the country.
Exam Shifts SSC CGL Tier-I exam is being conducted in 4 shifts every day:
1st Shift: 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM
2nd Shift: 11:45 AM to 12:45 PM
3rd Shift: 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM
4th Shift: 5:15 PM to 6:15 PM
Exam Pattern
The Tier-I exam will consist of 100 multiple-choice questions, with a time limit of 1 hour. Each correct answer will carry 2 marks, while there will be negative marking of 0.5 marks for each incorrect answer. Candidates who meet the cutoff marks in the Tier-I exam will be eligible to appear for the Tier-II examination.

It is mandatory to bring the admit card to the examination center. Candidates will not be allowed to enter without a valid admit card and photo ID. The Commission's instructions must be followed at the examination center.
It is known that the admit cards for this examination were released on 10th September.
