River has launched its new electric scooter River Indie Gen 3 in India. The company said that this updated model has been introduced with the entry into the North Indian market and its first dealership has been opened in Delhi. River calls its Indie Gen 3 the 'SUV of scooters' and has added some new features to it. The new version gets upgraded tyres which claim to have better grip. Apart from this, a redesigned display has been given which shows clutter-free design and integrated range and charging details. Ride statistics data has also been added to the mobile app. In terms of design, the twin-square headlamp and boxy panels have been kept the same.
Speaking of pricing, the River Indie Gen 3 has been priced at ₹1.44 lakh (ex-showroom, Bengaluru). The company states that this e-scooter is available in five color options , including black accents.
In terms of specifications, the River Indie Gen 3 is powered by the same 4 kWh battery, which offers a claimed range of 163 km (IDC) on a single charge. Power is provided by a PMS motor tuned to 6.7 kW (8.9 bhp) and has a top speed of 90 kmph. The battery takes approximately 5-6 hours to charge from 0 to 80 percent. Braking is handled by disc brakes at both ends and a Combined Braking System (CBS).
The company has added some more advanced features to the new version, including hill-hold assist, customizable data points, and real-time charging status. River says these upgrades were developed based on internal testing and feedback from riders.
Practical storage has also been addressed in the new River Indie Gen 3. It features 43 liters of under-seat storage and 12 liters of glovebox space. The display now features a cleaner look, with charging and range information directly visible.
