If Bluetooth suddenly stops working on your Windows 11 laptop or PC, it can be quite frustrating, especially if you rely on a wireless mouse, headphones, speakers, or other smart devices. Sometimes the Bluetooth toggle disappears, pairing fails, or connected devices repeatedly disconnect. Fortunately, this isn't a major hardware problem; in most cases, it can be fixed with a few simple steps. In this guide, we'll show you step-by-step how to fix Bluetooth not working on your Windows 11 device.
1. First, check if Bluetooth is on.
Open the Quick Settings Panel by pressing the Windows key + A.
Check to see if the Bluetooth icon is on. If it's off, turn it on.
You can also manually toggle Bluetooth by going to Settings > Bluetooth & Devices.
2. Run the Bluetooth Troubleshooter
Windows 11 comes with a built-in troubleshooting tool that can automatically detect and fix Bluetooth issues.
Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters पर जाएं।
Scroll down and click the Run button next to Bluetooth.
Follow the on-screen instructions and let Windows find the problem.
3. Restart Bluetooth Services
If the Bluetooth service isn't running properly in the background, connectivity issues may occur.
Press Windows + R and type services.msc
Scroll down and find these three services: Bluetooth Audio Gateway Service, Bluetooth Support Service, and Bluetooth User Support Service
Right-click on each one and select Restart.
4. Update Bluetooth drivers in Device Manager
Outdated or corrupt Bluetooth drivers can also be the cause of this issue.
Open Start > Device Manager.
Expand the Bluetooth section.
Right-click your Bluetooth adapter (such as Intel, Qualcomm, or Realtek) and select Update driver > Search automatically.
If this doesn't work, uninstall the device driver and restart your system. Windows will automatically reinstall the driver after rebooting.
5. Turn Airplane Mode On/Off
Toggling Airplane mode can sometimes help to reset Bluetooth glitches.
Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Airplane Mode and turn it on, then turn it off again.
6. Install Windows Updates
Microsoft periodically releases updates to fix Bluetooth-related bugs.
Go to Settings > Windows Update and click on Check for updates.
Install all pending updates and restart the system.
7. Ensure that BIOS or hardware-level Bluetooth is not disabled
Some laptops (especially HP, Dell, Lenovo) may have Bluetooth disabled from the BIOS settings.
Restart the system and go into BIOS (usually with the F2 or Del key).
Go to the Wireless or Connectivity tab and make sure Bluetooth is enabled.
8. Reset the Bluetooth Adapter
Sometimes resetting the adapter is helpful. In this case, right-click the Bluetooth device in Device Manager and select Disable device, then enable it again.
9. System Restore या Reset
If all else fails, you can try System Restore or Reset this PC. This can revert your system to a state when Bluetooth was working properly.
10. All Else Fails? Try an External Dongle
If all of the above steps don't work, the Bluetooth adapter itself may be faulty. In this case, try plugging in a USB Bluetooth dongle to see if that resolves the issue.
