The Ministry of Transport (MoRTH) has implemented a new rule for Driving License (DL) holders and Vehicle Registration (RC) holders. The Ministry says that now it is mandatory for every vehicle owner and license holder to update their mobile number. The Ministry has also informed people about this through social media and has clarified that by updating the mobile number, important information related to the vehicle and driving license will be available on time and any kind of error or problem can be avoided. The special thing is that now you will not need to go to the RTO office for this. This process can be completed from home using mobile or computer.
Important information to update mobile number
To update your mobile number on the Parivahan and Sarthi portals, you'll need some basic information. These include the vehicle's registration number, registration date, vehicle chassis number, driving license number, and the driver's license holder's date of birth. Without these details, your application will not be submitted.
How to update mobile number in RC, DL online?
According to MoRTH, when you visit the official Parivahan Seva website (vahan.parivahan.gov.in or sarathi.parivahan.gov.in), the option to update your mobile number will appear as a pop-up. Two QR codes will also appear, which can be scanned to access the portal directly. Once you're on the portal, you'll need to enter your vehicle's details. Once this process is complete, your new mobile number will be registered in the system.
To update your mobile number online, you must have an internet connection. If you don't have an internet connection or are unable to complete the online process, you can also visit the RTO office to update your mobile number. The ministry says that the updated number will ensure timely and accurate delivery of license and vehicle-related information, providing convenience to vehicle owners and drivers.
