Amazfit Bip 6 Review: Value for Money

The Amazfit BIP 6 smartwatch features an aluminum alloy body, which looks attractive and premium. It's also lightweight, making it easy to carry around during your daily routine.

Health monitoring has become essential in today's fast-paced life. For this purpose, there's nothing better than a smartwatch. You can not only monitor your health on a smartwatch, but also receive mobile notifications and pick up and drop calls. This is why you'll find smartwatches from many companies in various price ranges. However, choosing a good smartwatch is a daunting task. Amazfit is the leader in the Indian smartwatch market. Amazfit recently launched the Amazfit BIP 6 in India. It's priced at ₹7,999. The BIP series is a popular series from the company in India, known for its value for money. We used this smartwatch and here we'll share our insights on its performance...

Amazfit BIP 6: Design

The BIP 6 smartwatch comes with an aluminum alloy body, which looks attractive and premium. It's lightweight, making it comfortable to wear during your daily routine. The silicone strap weighs 27.9 grams without the strap. The dimensions of the smartwatch are 46.3 x 40.2 x 10.45 mm. You can purchase this smartwatch in four colors: Black, Charcoal, Stone, and Red. This rectangular dial features two buttons on the side, which have a nice finish.

I wore this smartwatch with the silicone strap for almost 24 hours a day, and it was comfortable. The smartwatch features quick-release pins, allowing you to swap out the existing strap for a 22 mm universal strap in a different color. The smartwatch's water resistance rating is 5 ATM. You can easily wear it while swimming, and it won't get damaged. It can withstand water pressure up to 50 meters. This is a good water resistance rating for its price range.

Amazfit BIP 6: Display

Talking about the screen of Amazfit BIP 6, it has a 1.97-inch AMOLED display, which is very sharp and colorful. Its screen resolution is 390*450. You will be able to see its screen clearly even in sunlight. Its peak brightness goes up to 2,000 nits. The touch response of the smartwatch is quite fast. You can control this smartwatch through the Zepp app. You will find many watchfaces in the app, which you can easily change. Its screen comes with tempered glass and anti-fingerprint coating, due to which its screen looks clean. Also, you will not easily see any fingerprints or smudges on the screen.

Amazfit BIP 6 Smartwatch: Software

The Amazfit BIP 6 smartwatch runs Zepp OS 4.5, Amazfit's own operating system. Its interface is clean and lag-free, making it easy to switch between apps. It comes with 162MB of internal storage.

The Amazfit BIP 6 also comes with an inbuilt AI assistant called Zepp Flow, which is the company's own voice assistant. Just like you use Siri on Apple, Google Assistant on Android, or Alexa on Amazon, you can use the voice assistant called Zepp Flow on the BIP 6. Once set up, it will do whatever you ask it to. I tried it several times by calling someone, counting steps, and typing messages, and it was really amazing at it. You can also reply to notifications on your smartwatch through it. The experience was quite good.

Amazfit BIP 6: Calling Features

The Amazfit BIP 6 comes with speaker and mic support. This allows you to easily pick up and drop your phone on the watch. You can easily talk while picking up the phone, and the receiver will be able to hear you easily. Indoors, you can talk to another person through the watch, although you may face some difficulty outdoors. The watch's Bluetooth allows you to pair it with another device. Its AI assistant allows you to call anyone through your smartwatch without using a smartphone.

Amazfit BIP 6: Sports and Health Mode

The Amazfit BIP 6 smartwatch can track various health monitoring features like heart rate, SpO2, stress level, steps count, HRV, and more. If you're a fitness enthusiast, it offers over 140 sports modes, including running, cycling, yoga, walking, dance, strength training, skiing, and swimming. The watch can also automatically detect workouts. It also offers offline navigation for outdoor adventures. I used the smartwatch for walking and running, and the data was almost accurate.

The physical step count was a bit inconsistent at times, a feature found in watches from other companies. Sleep tracking, including REM analysis, also works well. The watch accurately records short power naps. You can view sleep duration and deep sleep counts in the data using the app.

Amazfit Bip 6: Verdict

The Amazfit BIP 6 proves to be a powerful and all-round smartwatch for its price. Its premium design, sharp AMOLED display, and light weight make it perfect for daily use. Running on Zepp OS, this watch offers a smooth experience, and features like the Zepp Flow AI assistant make it even smarter. For health and fitness, it offers essential features like over 140 sports modes, SpO2, heart rate, and sleep tracking, all of which perform fairly accurately. Support for a microphone and speaker for calling is a significant advantage in this price range. While step counting can sometimes be a bit erratic, overall, at ₹7,999, this watch is a great value for money, offering good performance on every front, from health to smart notifications.
