Xiaomi introduces new HyperOS 16 based on Android 3, find out which device will get the new update and when

 

Xiaomi launched HyperOS 3 in September 2025, a new user interface based on Android 16. It includes AI-powered features like HyperIsland and HyperAI. The new Xiaomi Mi 17, 17 Pro, and 17 Pro Max will already have it, while older models will get it via an OTA update. HyperOS 3 includes features like multitasking and AI writing.

HyperOS 3 brings HyperIsland and HyperAI

HyperIsland, based on Android 16, is introduced in HyperOS 3, which resembles Apple's Dynamic Island. The new HyperIsland will display important notifications and live activity directly on the home screen. This improves multitasking on Xiaomi phones. HyperIsland will also display the phone's charging speed.
