If you don't want to wait in long lines to buy a ticket, there's a solution. The Indian Railways' Unreserved Ticketing System (UTS) app allows users to book local, passenger, and unreserved train tickets. Tickets for non-suburban stations beyond 200 km are available up to three days in advance, while suburban tickets up to 200 km are booked only on the day of travel. Here, we're explaining how to book tickets online using the UTS app.
On the UTS app, users can book two types of tickets: paperless and paper tickets. With the paperless option, users can purchase and pay for tickets online. Travel without the need for a printed copy. For paper tickets, users must pay online through the UTS app and then print them at a railway station counter or ATM machine.
How to book train tickets through UTS
Step 1: First of all you have to open the UTS app on your phone.
Step 2: Then login using your credentials.
Step 3: If you're not a registered user, register with your mobile number and other required information. Once registered, log in to the app by entering your ID and password.
Step 4: Now to book the ticket, click on Journey Ticket, Quick Booking option.
Step 5: Below you'll see the option to book a paperless or paper ticket. Select either option. Then, enter your departure and destination stations.
Step 6: Click on "Next Train" to display information about upcoming trains. After selecting your preferred train, click on "Get Fare" again.
Step 7: Click on "Book Ticket" and several payment options will appear. Once you pay using your preferred payment option, your ticket will appear in the app.
