When the Lekhraj family, with a garment factory set up for export, had an idea: to use surplus fabric to produce high-quality cotton shirts. The clothes went on sale and sold out almost immediately. This comes at a time when cotton clothing was not even considered fashionable. This led her to open her first store with only a few items of clothing on display. The response was enormous. And Cottonworld was born. Cottonworld became India's first store specializing in natural clothing. Located on a tree-lined street in Colaba, Mumbai, the brand has been frequented by loyal followers since its inception. The brand has grown and has its branches across the country with more than 25 stores in Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Goa, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Pune and Gurgaon.
