An earthquake hits Ishikawa Prefecture : Japan Meteorological Department

The Japan Meteorological Department reported that an earthquake occurred in the sea waters near the Japanese prefecture of Ishikawa.

A statement issued by the department stated that the epicenter of the earthquake was located at a depth of 10 kilometers, adding that the maximum strength of the earthquakes reached 4 degrees on a seven-point scale used in Japan.

The statement stressed that there is no danger of a tsunami.

This earthquake occurred in the same area that was hit by a 6.3-magnitude earthquake last week. It was also 10 km deep.
