According to media reports , during the hearing , the lawyers told that Balesh had mixed sleeping pills Stilnox or date-rape drug Rohypnol in the drinks of the women. Dhankhar also recorded videos of the rape using his alarm clock and a hidden camera in his phone.

Dhankhar told the court that he lied to the women because his marriage was not going well and he was lonely. A lawyer for Balesh had told the court that each of the complainants had given consent for sex. Dhankhar, in his defence, said,

They are just porn videos. They have nothing to do with unconsciousness.

He also demanded bail from the court which was rejected.

Police raided
This matter came to the fore in 2018. In October that year, police raided Dhankhar's CBD apartment, where they found dozens of videos of women being raped. In some of them women are unconscious and in some they struggle in a state of intoxication. The videos were arranged in folders. Each one was labeled with the name of a Korean woman. One of those videos was of 95 minutes. That's why Balesh was accused of 39 cases including 13 cases of rape.

According to reports, Balesh has been the president of the international organization 'Overseas Friends of BJP'. This is an official group supporting BJP. Pictures of Balesh with Prime Minister Narendra Modi are also going viral on social media.
