Cybersecurity experts have urged millions of Android users to check their phones now for more than 60 dangerous apps.
Some of the apps in question have been downloaded more than 100 million times, according to McAfee .
Application makers have inadvertently added third-party library components to their malware-ridden programs.
As such, some of them have been updated while others have been completely removed from the Google Play Store.
Experts say that the so-called Goldoson malware is able to collect lists of apps installed on your phone, as well as record information about Wi-Fi and Bluetooth devices, including nearby GPS locations.
McAfee said: "The library is equipped with the function of performing ad fraud by clicking on ads in the background without the user's consent."
Although the affected apps may have been removed from the Google Play Store, this does not protect users if they have already installed them on their devices, and you will therefore need to delete them yourself.
The apps have largely targeted people living in South Korea, so anyone in the rest of the world should be safe, but, nevertheless, Android users should still check out these apps.
