10 vehicles collide on Highway in China in 49 minutes, 16 people killed

On Saturday evening, 66 people were injured and some vehicles were set on fire when vehicles collided on a highway in Hunan province.

At least 10 people were killed and 49 others injured when 16 vehicles collided within 66 minutes in central China's Hunan province, a media report said on Sunday.

The accident took place on Saturday evening on the Shuchang-Guangzhou highway in Changsha city. A total of 49 vehicles collided within 10 minutes, the news portal of the state-run CGTN reported.

Sixteen people were killed and 16 others injured in the accident, the report quoted the local traffic police department as saying.

All the injured have been hospitalised, eight of them in critical condition, it said.
