"Al-Aqsa Martyrs" claims responsibility for the perpetrator of the Jerusalem attack, and American concern over the worsening of the situation

"Al-Aqsa Martyrs" claims responsibility for the perpetrator of the Jerusalem attack, and American concern over the worsening of the situation The Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades claimed responsibility for the perpetrator of the Jerusalem operation, and Hamas considered the operation a "quick response" to the events in Jenin, while a US official expressed Washington's concern about the possible deterioration of the security situation before Secretary of State Anthony Blinken's visit to the region. The Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades, affiliated with the Palestinian National Liberation Movement, Fatah, claimed responsibility for the perpetrator of the Jerusalem attack on Friday, and said that he was Khairi Alqam, 21 years old. On Friday evening, a shooting attack in front of a Jewish synagogue in the "Nabi Jacob" settlement, north of Jerusalem, resulted in the death of 7 Israelis and the perpetrator of the attack, and at least 6 others were wounded. And Al-Aqsa Martyrs said on its Twitter account: "The Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades is mourning the immersed martyr Khairy Alqam (21 years old) from Al-Tur neighborhood in occupied Jerusalem." She added, "The operation comes in the context of the natural response to the crimes of the Zionist enemy against our people, the latest of which was the Jenin camp crime (Thursday), and came to confirm the rightness of the option of armed resistance." For its part, the Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, considered that the operation came as a "quick response" to the martyrdom of 10 Palestinians, who were shot dead by the occupation, Thursday, in the West Bank, including 9 in the Jenin camp. "The operation is a natural response to the crimes of the occupation and the massacre of Jenin on Thursday," Hazem Qassem, a spokesman for the movement, told Anadolu Agency. American concern White House National Security Council spokesman John Kirby said Friday that the United States is "deeply concerned about the recent violence in Israel and the West Bank," and that it sees an urgent need for all parties to stop the escalation in the region. "We believe there is an urgent need here for de-escalation on all sides, to avoid further loss of civilian life, and to work together to improve the security situation in the West Bank," Kirby said. A US official had expressed Washington's concern about the possible deterioration of the security situation between the Israelis and the Palestinians before Secretary of State Anthony Blinken's visit to the Middle East, which begins on Sunday, after a bloody raid by the Israeli occupation forces in the Jenin camp in the occupied West Bank. And the US Secretary of State is traveling to Egypt, Israel and the West Bank in the midst of escalating tensions. It will be Blinken's first visit to Israel since Netanyahu's new right-wing government came to power after elections in November, causing concern at home and abroad given opposition from some coalition members to a Palestinian state and other hardline views.
