Erdogan followed the final match of the World Cup between France and Argentina, on Sunday evening, at Lusail Stadium in the Qatari capital, Doha.
In a tweet posted on Twitter after the match ended, Erdogan said that the confrontation "was one of the most exciting final matches in history."
The Turkish President extended his warmest congratulations to Argentina and all Argentines on winning the World Cup.
In a related context, the head of the Turkish Presidency's Communication Department, Fahrettin Altun, congratulated the Argentine people and their national team on winning the 2022 World Cup and defeating France.
Altun described the match as "the best final in world football".
Turkish President Erdogan had arrived in Doha earlier Sunday to attend the closing ceremony of the World Cup, at the invitation of the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
Argentina was crowned World Cup champion "Qatar 2022", after defeating France on penalties (4-2) in an exciting final, whose original and extra time ended in a positive draw with three goals for each team.
