In a letter, the Palestinian female prisoners revealed their conditions in Israeli prisons, and they made several demands.
Palestinian female prisoners in Israeli prisons said that they are subjected to "abuse and repression," and demanded intensified efforts to free them and the rest of the prisoners.
This came in a message to female prisoners in the Damon prison in northern Israel, on the occasion of International Women's Day, which falls on March 8, and was transmitted by the Prisoners and Ex-Prisoners Affairs Authority.
The letter stated: "The female prisoners of Damoun prison have been subjected this year to many methods of repression, abuse and collective punishment, including: bans on visits, deprivation of the cantina (prison store) and phone calls, in addition to medical negligence."
The female prisoners continued: "The attack on male and female prisoners is not isolated from the policies of the occupation against our people, their oppression, and the confiscation of land and settlements."
They called for "intensifying" efforts to achieve the liberation of male and female prisoners, especially the elderly, those sentenced to life imprisonment, the sick, and minors.
On the political front, she called on the female prisoners to "achieve national unity, end the state of division, and intensify efforts to expose the practices of the occupation."
According to the letter, 32 female prisoners are currently held in Damoun Prison, including 11 mothers, an administrative prisoner (without trial or charge), a minor captive, and 7 female captives over the age of 50.
