68 Year Old Story Behind Sonbhadra Massacre

68 Year Old Story Behind Sonbhadra Massacre 20 days before the elections in Umbha village, the work of building a residential school has started. You remember Umbha village of Sonbhadra , the same village where 11 tribals were massacred for the possession of hundreds of bighas of land. But do you know that the story of this genocide started being written since 1954 and do you know that the plot to grab the land of the tribals was started 68 years ago. This is not only a story of incomplete justice for the tribals who were killed in Umbha village , but also a story of exposing the corrupt government system using their clout to oust the poor landowners from their own land. The plot to grab Umbha's land had started since 1954. In fact, on July 17, 2019, 11 tribals were murdered in Umbha village of Sonbhadra, while 19 people were injured. The then village head Yagyadutt and his associates were accused of this massacre for the possession of land and they were also sent to jail. But this story is not so simple. Lawyer Dharmendra Singh says that before December 17, 1955, this land was not in anyone's name, rather, this forest account was registered in the Gram Sabha account. The then Tehsildar of Robertsganj ordered that 435 bighas of land went to the society. After this, on 7 September 1989, a paper correction case was filed there. The SDM removed the land from the society and transferred it to the names of Vinita Sharma and Asha Mishra. From these people, on October 17, 2017, about 150 bighas of land was registered in the name of the then head and 15 people of his family. When the bond was done, his dismissal was filed and he started trying to take possession. At the same time, the action of survey settlement started here too. Taking advantage of the same order, under a well-planned conspiracy, the buyer (the then head who bought the land) tried to capture it, which had catastrophic results. The society did not buy the land, then on the orders of the officials, they got this land. The matter of the king's lease has not come to light. They (tribals) say that we have obtained a patta from the king. But there was no mention of lease in the nature of the land. Khatauni Jungle was registered in the name of the Gram Sabha and on the basis of that all of them were fighting for possession. The names of the great-grandfathers of the families of these people (Adivasis) were found during the investigation. Dharmendra Singh (Lawyer) Bihar connection of the game of buying and selling of land in UP It is said that on October 10, 1954, the Adarsh Cooperative Society Saphi-Umbha was formed. Bihar's big landlord and former Congress leader Maheshwar Prasad Narayan Singh was its chairman. 11 members of the family including his wife Parvati Devi, daughter Asha Mishra were made members of the society. Maheshwar Prasad was the brother of Chandeshwar Prasad Narayan Singh, former governor of UP and Punjab. Chandeshwar Prasad was also the Ambassador of India to Nepal. In September 1989, the then SDM illegally transferred the land to Maheshwar Prasad's daughter Asha Mishra and granddaughter Vinita Sharma. Asha Mishra is the wife of retired IAS officer Prabhat Kumar Mishra. Prabhat Kumar Mishra is the son of retired IAS officer Ramsuchit Mishra. On the other hand, Vinita Sharma is the wife of retired IAS officer Bhanu Pratap Sharma. It is alleged that due to this influence, the game of illegal purchase and sale of tribal land continued for years. October 17, Rampati Singh Gaur, who lost three of his family members in the Umbha massacre, says, "Our ancestors came and settled here, at that time the rule of Raja Badhar was going on. Taking orders from him, our ancestors cut the forest and built their homes here. Now our fourth The generation is living. Our trial is going on, so if they come to capture then the administration will remain there, the revenue department will also be there. But nothing like this happened. About 300 men had come and hardly 60-70 people were gathered here, they fired for hours, sticks - Hit with sticks and stones. 11 people were killed in it, my sister from my family, elder sister's daughter-in-law and her son were also killed. My wife was also shot in the leg, but it was God's mercy that she survived." What help did the victims of Umbha get from the government? After the incident 7.5 bighas of land was found, 10 bighas was said. Somebody gave one lakh, some gave two lakh, in total about 30 lakh was received. He said that the government has said that but there is no rule to give 10 bighas of land, we do seven and a half years. Housing colony has been found, now school work has started. Have five children. There is a small child, everyone is going to study, now we are the people. On seeing the photo, the heart does not believe (that the son is no longer alive). This is the last photo. The body was dismembered while weeping, the stove did not catch fire for five days (the food was not cooked). If the parents who gave birth to the child remain and the child goes away, it will not be tolerated. The one who will be in pain, will have a stone on his chest, will the tears be maintained? Harivansh Lal (father of deceased Ashoka) Made so many calls but the police reached here after one and a half hours of the incident, whereas the number 100 comes here in half an hour. A complete investigation was done on this, the government put a SIT team here, the land was canceled, the land got to the poor, but the 11 of our people who left, now they will not come. We are not satisfied because the government had promised that if there is an educated person in the family of the deceased, then he will be given a job. And arrangements will be made to teach small children, but all this did not happen. Yes, the government has given compensation. The work of residential school has started 15-20 days back. Our demand is that our village should be safe, whatever happened happened, but it should not happen again. If the government had listened in time, 11 people would not have lost their lives. After this incident, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath formed the SIT. After the investigation of the SIT, 21 people, including 16 officials, were found guilty of wrongful transfer of land, on whom the CM had consented to file the chargesheet. Apart from this, the Chief Minister had also directed for departmental action against 21 officers. Also, orders were given to recover about Rs 1 crore 10 lakh along with interest from Asha Mishra and Vinita Sharma. At the same time, many of the people accused of genocide are currently roaming out on bail. Lawyer Dharmendra Singh says that all the people in the SIT were nominated, the District Magistrate and Assistant Records Officer of that time, there were all such officers who were found involved in it. The investigation is going on in the SIT right now, no action has been seen on anyone yet. Even today thousands of hectares of land are registered in the names of relatives of government employees and capitalists only on the basis of possession without purchase and sale of the original residents. Umbha is an example, there are many such problems right now, where there is a possibility of an incident like Umbha. This district was exploited in his name. In 1994, the land which was to be known to the Forest Department was gone. The land which was to be known to the farmer was gone, so why was Section 20 not published from 1994 till today? Congress, SP, BSP and BJP also had a government in this and even today they have a government. Even 6 months before the Umbha massacre, NDA ally Apna Dal MLA Hariram Chero had written a letter to the Chief Minister, apprised him of the whole matter. Also, about 1200 people of the village had written a letter to the BJP National President requesting for help, but no action was taken. Doesn't seem satisfied with the help. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath himself had announced to build a residential school and a police post in this village, but more than two and a half years have passed and the foundation work has been done in this village just a few days before the election in the name of residential school. . The police post is also not ready yet, work has started there only a few months back.
