Well-informed Palestinian sources told Al Jazeera that the "Al-Quds Brigades" (the military wing of the Islamic Jihad movement) has raised its state of readiness to a large degree after the severe deterioration of the health of the prisoner Hisham Abu Hawash, who has been on hunger strike for 138 days, while the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) warned the occupation of the consequences of ignoring The issue of the prisoner, and a march took place in Ramallah in solidarity with Abu Hawash.
Al-Quds Brigades issued instructions to stop training activities, evacuate their military sites, and stop work in their manufacturing workshops in the Gaza Strip. The Islamic Jihad movement accused Israel of trying to assassinate the 40-year-old prisoner, Abu Hawash, and threatened that it would respond if he was martyred.
The movement said in a statement, "Every hour that passes without ending the suffering of the prisoner Abu Hawash means that he is approaching the danger of death, akin to an operation of liquidation and assassination, and we will deal with it according to our commitment to respond to any assassination crime committed by the enemy."
She added, "The occupation continues to manipulate and practice a policy of misleading and deception through what the courts called the decision to freeze administrative detention (issued on December 27, 2021), in an attempt to evade responsibility for the consequences of the strike in which the prisoner expresses his rejection of the unjust detention."
Hamas said that the occupation's continued ignoring of the prisoner's strike, Abu Hawash, "confirms its aggressive intentions to practice a slow execution against him."
Slow death
Hamas warned the Israeli occupation not to continue to ignore the issue of the prisoner Hisham Abu Hawash, and the movement held the occupation authorities fully responsible for the life of the prisoner who belongs to the Islamic Jihad movement. "He confirms his manifest aggressive intentions by carrying out a slow execution against him."
Hamas called on all human rights and human rights institutions to break their silence, do their duty, and assume their responsibilities towards the prisoners, especially the hunger strikers, and work to save their lives.
In the same context, Palestinian Prime Minister Muhammad Shtayyeh called on the Israeli authorities to immediately release the prisoner, saying that the prisoner Abu Hawash is in a critical health condition, holding the "Israeli occupation authorities" fully responsible for his life.
The Palestinian Prisoners Club stated, in a press statement, that the prisoner Hisham Abu Hawash, who hails from the city of Hebron, is "facing death" in the Israeli "Asaf Harofeh" hospital, in light of his continuing hunger strike in rejection of his administrative detention. The statement stated that the detainee's health condition is deteriorating continuously, and that there is difficulty in waking him up, considering that the Israeli authorities "are carrying out a crime against him while continuing their intransigence and refusing to respond to his demand of ending his arbitrary administrative detention."

And the prisoner Abu Hawash, a father of 5 children, from the town of Dura, west of Hebron (south of the West Bank), was arrested on October 27, 2020, and transferred to administrative detention. After months of procrastination, the occupation authorities froze his administrative detention order last Sunday, and transferred him to the hospital in a critical condition, but he refused to suspend his strike.
Administrative detention is a decision to imprison by an Israeli military order, for a period of 6 months, subject to extension, on the grounds of a security threat, without trial or indictment.
Two missiles fired
In a separate context, IDF Chief of Staff Aviv Kohavi concluded an emergency meeting on Saturday to assess the security situation after two rockets landed off the shores of Tel Aviv, fired from the Gaza Strip this morning.
