A teacher in Canada writes 80 handwritten letters to her students after school suspension.. What is the story? A high school teacher in the Canadian province of Ontario has sent handwritten letters, to help her students get through this difficult period, as the new year began with a curfew and remote study due to the spread of the mutant Omicron. Muslim teacher Iman Al-Araibi said she wanted to show her students that someone cared about them, so she sent a handwritten letter to each of them. Al-Araibi explained, according to Radio Canada, that she wanted to put a smile on the faces of her students in the three classes. The teacher expected her students' reaction when reading the letters when she devoted last week to writing 60 of them and 20 this week. Al-Araibi said she received thank you emails from many of her students, adding, “It made me feel like I did something that really made a difference for these students, while we were locked in homes and losing touch.” One of the mothers, Iman Al-Araibi, thanked in a tweet on Twitter, "One of my daughter's teachers sent each student a handwritten letter via mail. The kindness and encouragement made my tears flow and lifted my daughter's morale." And the (Toronto Muslims) Facebook page published the story of Iman and her initiative, to encourage what she had done. Meredith Lukowitz, one of the students who received the handwritten letter, expressed her appreciation for the teacher's kindness, saying the card meant a lot to her because it "showed how much she cared about us." In a thank you letter, the student wrote, “I want to take this opportunity to say thank you for your hard work and contributions to our class and our school community.” Al-Araibi said the messages are meant to give students some psychological comfort, as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to affect daily life. The teacher said she was excited that students would be back in class this week, but that the resumption of classes had been delayed due to the pandemic measures in Ontario, and added, "I wanted them to feel that things were going to be OK." "I know how difficult it is for them to lose those bonds with friends, we still feel a little nervous about schools being safe for everyone, but we trust the officials," she said.
