"Jamal Khashoggi Road"Changing the name of part of the Saudi Embassy Street in Washington

The local authorities in Washington intend to change the name of part of the street outside the Saudi embassy in the American capital, to become "Jamal Khashoggi Road", starting next January.

Approved by the Washington State Council of America unanimously to nominate part of the street outside the Saudi Embassy in the US capital, in the name of the late Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi, according to the transfer site of national public radio local NPR.

A section of "New Hampshire Avenue" will be called "The Way of Jamal Khashoggi", in a special ceremony starting next January, according to the same source.

Khashoggi, 59, was killed inside the Saudi consulate in the Turkish city of Istanbul on October 2, 2018, and his case went through 14 prominent stations, the latest of which was a US intelligence report, confirming the strength of the presence of the case, whose owner's body is still absent.

The crime shook world public opinion, thanks to a broad Turkish move whose echoes are still continuing, and prevented the file from being closed with final Saudi court rulings in 2020, which were the subject of criticism.
