Turkish Taff
The history of the establishment of TAV Holding Company, which is a Turkish success story in the domestic and international aviation industry, dates back to 1997, after it was entrusted with the development and operation of Ataturk Airport in Istanbul. Within a few years, TAV became one of the largest airport operators in the world, serving 1 million flights and 152 million passengers in 2018.
Since its inception, TAV has developed as a global brand in airport management operations, thanks to its expertise in the construction and management of airports and its recruitment of highly skilled human resources and advanced technology. Today, it is the leading airport operator in Turkey and 8 Arab and international countries, and provides services related to duty free, food and beverage, ground logistics, as well as information technology services, security services and commercial zone management.
After the company underwent a restructuring process in 2006 in line with its expansion goals, the company reorganized its activities in the fields of operation and construction, so TAV Airports specialized in airport operations, while TAV Construction focused on building and construction activities. Following this reorganization, TAV Airports was submitted for an initial public offering in February 2007 on the Istanbul Stock Exchange. In May 2012, the French company (Groupe ADP) became the largest shareholder in "TAV Airports" after acquiring the largest percentage of the total shares of the company, which today amounts to about 46.1%.
