Lulu Group International is an Indian big multinational Hypermarket conglomerate company that operates a chain of supermarkets and retail businesses, so, headquartered in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates . Lulu hypermarket was established in the year 2000 by Master Yusuf Ali who hails from Natika, Thrissur district in Kerala , India. It manages Lulu International Group is mainly the chain of international supermarkets named Lulu Hypermarkets across the GCC Gulf. Lulu has more than 57,000 employees of different nationalities. It is one of the largest retail chains in Asia and the largest in the Middle East with 154 outlets inGulf Cooperation Council countries. Lulu International Group operates Lulu Hypermarket which also includes 13 malls across the GCC, Lulu International Shopping Center the largest mall in India along with Marriott Hotels & Resorts , in Kochi, the same Lulu campus area and the largest mall in Malaysia . Research firm Deloitte recently ranked it among the world's 50 fastest growing retailers. Lulu has also started the Lulu Convention Center in Thrissur which spans over 18 acres (73,000 square metres) with a built-up area of   160,000 square feet (15,000 square metres). The Lulu Project of Lulu Bolgatty International Convention Center in Bolgatty Island is one of the largest convention center in South Asia To a third side of the largest hotel holds a sign of the Grand Hyatt at the same campus. In 2016, M. a. Yusuf Ali, founder of Lulu, purchased Scotland Yard in London. In 2013, Yusuf Ali holds a 9.37% stake in Cochin International Airport . Lulu Group International first opened mega supermarket in Abu Dhabi United Arab Emirates , in 1995, when the retail scenario in the region best performance began to change with the entry of the continent ( now Carrefour ). Later, so more Lulu supermarkets were opened in different parts of Abu Dhabi, and there are also many Lulu stores located in the Emirate of Dubai . In 1990s, Lulu company Center stores were launched fast, and the group expanded to include other more countries in the Middle East area .

In 2000, First big Lulu Hypermarket was opened in Dubai. With launch, this group embarked on an aggressive large expansion plan. It quickly grew into a chain with several outlets in the UAE, Kuwait, Qatar , Saudi Arabia, Bahrain , Oman and Yemen . 10 march 2013, Lulu big Hypermarket was opened in Kochi, India at Lulu Mall which is the largest shopping mall in India. Lulu Group is also planning to invest Rs 1,000 crore for an international conference centre, five star hotel and mall in Lucknow , Uttar Pradesh in nextdoor . They have also started construction of Lulu Mall in Trivandrum which, upon completion, will be the second largest mall in India after the mall in Kochi.

As of April 2019, there are 166 Lulu hypermarkets in the GCC , one in India in Kochi and Kerala and one in Malaysia and Indonesia . Lulu Group is undergoing massive expansion plans in the retail, food processing and logistics sector. Lulu Group invests in Bangalore, Chennai , Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, Lucknow, Calicut and Trivandrum .

In April 2013, Lulu Group launched its UK operations in Birmingham with the opening of a logistics and packing facility under the name Y International. The 20,000 sq ft facility purchases and exports food, non-food, chilled and frozen products of British origin to Lulu Hypermarkets spread across the Gulf countries. Date coding and marking of different countries, translation of labels, halal and other related certifications are also performed. About 60 British nationals work at the facility, which hopes to create 200 jobs soon. In May 2014, following the visit of Prime Minister Najib Razak to the United Arab Emirates , a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Lulu HypermarketAnd the Federal Land Development Authority to establish ten Lulu hypermarkets in Malaysia.

Lulu Hypermarket has partnered with banks in the Middle East to create co-branded cards that help loyal customers get special privileges and rewards every time they shop. Lulu Credit Card in cooperation with Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank helps users to earn points for every AED 1 spent at any of the Lulu stores in the UAE.

Credit Card Shopping Lulu Doha Bank in cooperation with Doha Bank gives cardholders 5% discount on every purchase made from Lulu outlet in Qatar. Shopping points can also be accumulated and redeemed upon purchase.
